At Tree Island Gourmet Yogurt, we make goats milk yogurt using milk from Snap Dragon Dairy in Fanny Bay.
Owners, Karen Fouracre and Jaki Ayton are best friends and business partners that have worked together since 1997 to establish an amazing 1.6 acre micro dairy. Their herd of 33 goats consists of carefully selected Toggenburg goats, and mixed breeds including Toggenburg crosses with the Saanen and Alpine breeds. Each goat has a unique personality and stays close to their buddies. Karen and Jaki truly care about the well-being of their goats, providing love and attention to each goat that is born. They also adhere to a strict CAE prevention program and maintain a healthy and disease free herd. In the words of Karen and Jaki, “We believe you can be ethical, humane and successful at farming, all at the same time.”
